I don't know. I see trees, or maybe one tree (a banyan?) here. But then, I'm inclined to see trees and living things. I don't know why the salts formed in this pattern. And, yes, there is a very fine covering of salt crystals in the "empty areas" between the trunks and the top. The crystals themselves, are very fine, just deposited unevenly. Unlike the Jupiter salts, which had a hard, bright sparkle to them, these have a soft creamy look to them.

I don't understand. What is this?
This is the dish of salts that crystallized out of the solution made from the calcinated herbs in the saturn tincture. (and why oh why do I want to go on with: and this is the cat that ate the rat that caught the mouse that...sorry-not much sleep last night) The next step will be to scrape up and grind the salts, and then add them back to the tincture.
Those are beautiful. As a budding alchemist myself, I understand the journey and the pain sweat and tears that little dish represents. Getting them to crystalize up in spiffy pattern, now that is magick :)
Very well done. Do the happy dance :)
I have just started the whole tincture process myself. Any advice? Also what I read about the salts never mentions filtering them, actually it mentions just adding the ash back to the tincture. Could you recommend some sources for me?
Hi, Naufragiobella, I'm glad you stopped by. (I took a look at your blog, and your group on ning-I'll be back there asap!) In all honesty, although I have several to many books on tincture making and alchemy, most of the info I'm working with came from asking questions of people. Contact me via email, or I will get your contact info, and I will be happy to let you know what/where I've found info. Do your instructions have you adding the ashes back to the tincture, or the salts? I re-disolved and refiltered these because they were behaving so strangely the first time around.
Just a couple of weeks until I start the Mars in Aries tincture-now that should prove interesting!
